Keep Every Dream Alive, is today’s title given to me by Sammie who like me, is also a single parent. Keep Every Dream Alive is also Sammie’s 2017 theme for her daughter who received her cochlear implant in 2014.

Depleted and defeated
Enraged while feeling caged and betrayed
Remember the treasured trove in the fibre of your being
Into the depths of your darkness
Reach gently for your heart as it falters
Feel that tingling in your fingers?

Do you feel the change in your heartbeat?
Now silence your mind and reach within
Close your eyes and breath in the calming tide

Breath gently and enter the depths of your self
Find your treasured trove as it lay hidden in the chaos of your mind
Still the voices raging with fear, regret, uncertainty and loss
Breath deep, breath slow
Let the darkness embrace you and then let go of the fear
Now feel the warmth tingling in your hand – the light within
