Today’s title was chosen by Kim van Niekerk, “That Was Then, This Is Now”.
Ever wondered what life was like in the 80’s or 90’s? Well today I have a treat for you, my parents, on video, answering a few questions.
To give you some context. My dad started his carefree life out in Noordhoek, but the family was later relocated to Ocean View due to the Group Areas Act. My mom on the other hand grew up in various areas on the Cape Flats, moving from family member to family member until she found a live in job as a carer in her late teens.
They met each other in 1980 . . . Please give them some love, this is their YouTube debut!
I loved this Chev! It’s an eye opener on changes over the years for sure. The best though is the interaction between your parents. Your dad is a riot!
Shells, thank you. These two can be quite hilarious, and I am so privileged to have them share a bit on my blog. Must admit, my mom didn’t know YouTube is on the Internet!!
I love this SO much Chev! My favourite part is when your mom gets annoyed that your dad corrects the price of bread 😛 Such a lovely post!
Yep, they are hilarious! My favourite part is where I ask my dad his age, and he goes blank and starts to laugh, and then throughout he is so serious lol!
