I’ve been absolutely terrible! I signed up to participate in the SA Mom Blogs “Featured Blogger” series, my Blogger was meant to feature in September, and here I am – freaking two months later!!
Life happened, and Athena from SUPERbusyMOM2.0 continued to tenaciously follow up with me, I mean, she is after all in sales J
So, let’s all get to know SUPERbusyMOM2.0.
Can you tell me a bit about yourself (relationship status, career, kids/pets, volunteering, etc.)?
I am a single individual and a single mom. I don’t have much spare time and the little that I do have, I tend to want to spend it with my child. I work a fulltime job (business development) and a part time job (sales representative). I am busy with my driver’s license #bleh. I had a dog. My beloved Mountain, but had to put her down because she suffered from anxiety and as the years went by, it just got worse. It’s just myself and my child. She is 3 years old. I am 27 years old. Live in the ever notorious Mitchells Plain and work in Town.
What inspired your Blog?
The first thing that strikes me when logging onto your blog, is your tagline / introduction – very direct, to the point, “take no prisoners”. Has this had any impact on how your readers view your blog?
No, and frankly I don’t care. As a single parent I don’t get much time to just let loose. I’m either working or being a parent (which we all know, is lots of work). My blog is there for me. To vent. To be me. Frankly, if someone doesn’t like it, they could just piss off.
Have you ever flipped your lid in public (lost your cool), what triggered it and what was the outcome?
Who hasn’t? With my child, mostly. It’s when they’re being kids and just plain old annoying. Not listening etc. I haven’t gone fully mental but I’ve been close to it and you can feel those judgemental stares from the other shoppers. Thankfully, my child is old enough now to understand.
What are you reading right now?
Wrongful Death by Lynda La Plante. Think “reading” is a bit of an exaggeration. It’s been laying in my bag for 2 months. 38 chapters and only on chapter 8.
What are the non-essential items in your handbag right now?
Geez, I change bags like every other day. I like my bag neat & to the point. I hate looking for things. Right now, I’m carting around a laptop bag & a normal rucksack. Obviously, the laptop is in the laptop bag with all its cables. The other bag, has a book, some paperwork that I need to follow up on. My office keys. My child’s favourite chocolate (I stole it from her). Some sweets. Lots of papers, like unnecessary shit. Like the things you never want to throw out because you know that EVENTUALLY you’ll need it.
Do you enjoy horror movies, why/why not?
Oh yes I do!!!!! Since I’ve become a mother though, I don’t get to watch much of anything. I just love the guts/gore. Hate all this lovey dovey shit. Give me blood/guts/thriller like stuff any day of the week! CANNOT wait for The Walking Dead to start. Currently watching Fear The Walking Dead.
When was the last time you slept until 11 am on a Saturday (being sick does not count)?
Seriously? Is this even a valid question? Latest I’ve slept is 8am.
If you could be a superhero, who would you be and why?
A superhero that can freeze time? Just to like lay down and chill. To clean also.
What was/is your favourite fairytale and why?
Geez, I’m not that old to not know but I seem to be drawing a blank here. Uhmm, I like the movie Tangled? Does that count? Wasn’t Rapunzel a fairytale or something?
Share your favourite:
Books:
- The Bible. I don’t get to read a lot and I don’t re-read many books so I can’t really pinpoint a favourite.
Movies:
- Finding Nemo, The Mask, Frozen, Rapunzel, Dirty Dancing
Songs:
- LOL, I don’t really have a favourite song but I do like old school Boys2Men/Brian McKnight kinda music. I’ve been told that I’m an old soul. Was actually listening to “Only You by The Platters” the other day. Sang it to my daughter actually J
Places:
- My home town man! Cape Town!
People:
- Like famous people? I would probably just keep it to my family, I guess. LOL, I am so confused by this questions!
If you had one message to share with your neighbourhood pets, what would that message be?
Stop coming around for free food! LOL, seriously I love pets but there are 4 dogs in my neighbourhood that literally sleep on my doorstep for food. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They even follow me to the mobile shop.
