Coffee? | Tandem Blog

This is the question I often send out when I need intelligent debate, when I need to mull over problems – and find solutions or a way around it. My time-out, my “getting back to the basics” – an opportunity to take in all that is happening around me, process it with intent and walk away refreshed, inspired and ready for whatever life has to offer.

My son understands this concept of mine. Just the other day I said to him. “You know son, all the world’s problems can be solved over a cup of coffee. You may not find the solution there and then, but you walk away with a clearer mind, purposeful direction and many possible solutions or alternatives. All you need to do is to open yourself up to the opinions and suggestions of others, and enjoy the invigorating smell and taste, relax and allow your mind to do its thing”

He nodded and continued to sip on his babychino while I stared into my cup, thinking about how fortunate I am to share such precious moments with my son.

It is over many a cup of coffee that I’ve made some of my biggest decisions. The aroma giving me the extra boost I needed to follow through with intent, to not be hasty and to consider all possible consequences while finding the silver lining in each one of them.

Coffee? Let me know when you ready and we can chat . . .
