The Colour Of Love

The red of your blood,
On my hands, on your knees
A reflection of a lost love
Ripped from her bosom
The umbilical cord;
Destroyed…

A broken community,
The haunting red in our eyes,
Shedding lifelong tears, to hell with our fears!

An uprising, not surprising,
We fight the decay
People, in blood, and dirt they lay
This, the colour of love
Now tarnished by the grit on your fist
All our lives now at risk

The smile on her face
Disfigured by the scars freely gave
A child destroyed, yet another void,
A life subjected to your loins
Humanity raped by its sickening fate
The colour of love, a blood soaked street
A community falls, as the law stands in defeat

The colour of love, subjective, ineffective
Defeated by societies ill treatment,
Depleted, rewind, can we delete it?

The colour of love, a crimson tide
Polluting the seeds we sow
Growing bolder as we behold her
A community malfunctioning
Gripped by fear, the criminals are allowed to steer

The colour of love, entrenched in our fear…
